OWNER- SHAWN TORKELSON
Shawn is a family man and a rancher that just so happens to have an entrepreneurial spirit. “I am a Mennonite Christian man who believes in God and hard work. Those beliefs shine in everything I do from ranching on my land to my furniture store in Pueblo.”
Shawn, his wife, and their 5 children live locally. Along with the furniture store, the family works together on their 360-acre ranch. “Ranching and especially agriculture is how Shawn grew up. Agriculture established our country. They love cattle and ranching because of the stewardship aspect of it. Shawn always strives to be the best at what he does. They aspire to own top quality cattle and horses and practice sound management practices in caring for the land and animals. The family instill these grassroots principles in their furniture store as well. They want their customers to know that they are doing their best to give them top quality furniture. American made furniture, and the absolute best customer care they can possibly give along with sound business practices that insure they will be serving Colorado for years to come.”
A Mennonite believes that God loved the world so much that he gave his only son to die on the cross and that through faith in the shed blood of Jesus we are reconciled to God. They believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, that as Christians we should live like brothers. Doing and being the best you can is a way of honoring God. You will see that honor to God in their work, family, and commitment to fellow human beings. Faith is only mentioned to give you an idea of why it is so very important to Shawn and his family that this furniture store gives you the buying experience, quality of furniture, and craftsmanship that you deserve.
When Shawn and his family moved to the area they decided that the community needed and could support a furniture store that crafted high-end, American-made products. Shawn had family back home that owned an Amish furniture store and he had purchased Amish furniture himself and was very happy with the investment. The idea of Signature Furnishings was born.
Signature Furnishings is located at 805 Eagleridge Blvd, Suite 60 in Pueblo, CO. Combining the Mennonite heritage with the Amish furniture craftsmen has been the perfect business model. All of the furniture is handcrafted in family-owned woodshops in mostly Indiana. “The Amish have a similar belief system as mine,” said Shawn. “They want to build products that they feel good about and they also believe their work is an extension of their faith.”
The Amish are known for passing down their traditions. The methods for making high-quality furniture are also passed down from generation to generation. They painstakingly make every piece of furniture out of hardwood and by hand. You can purchase heirloom-quality items at Signature Furnishings to hand down to your children and their children.
Signature Furnishings stocks furniture for purchase and if you need something fast this is the way to go. Most of the people who purchase from Signature Furnishings are discriminating shoppers. They prefer to personalize their orders. They can select the wood species, stain color, hardware, styling, fiber and fabric. Orders like these are typically ready and sitting at our store in about 12 weeks. The furniture will then be delivered to your home and set up within a week from being delivered to the store.
The Amish make beautiful handmade, solid-wood tables, chairs, office furniture, bedroom furniture, and living room furniture one piece at a time. The furniture is made from trees harvested in Appalachia. Made from solid American hardwoods like solid oak, hickory, cherry, maple, grey elm, walnut, rustic cherry, rustic hickory, and rustic quarter-sawn oak with no veneered plywood or particleboard allowed.
This is truly American-made, American-produced, American-built furniture. Not much is made in America anymore. Everything at Signature Furnishings is indeed 100% American craftsmanship at its best.
To set Signature Furnishings apart from other furniture stores and businesses. We will accomplish this by treating our customers with honor, integrity, respect, and honesty.
To give our customers the highest quality, best-built furniture we can find and offer it at a reasonable price.
To take the time needed to get to know our customers on a personal level. Asking questions to provide them the furniture they want, not the furniture we want to sell them.

Signature Furnishings sets these high standards because these are the first steps for a furniture business to honor God, its customers and to thrive. Shawn and everyone who works with him believes that faith, honesty, honor, and integrity are the marks of true success in business and in life.

MESSAGE FROM SHAWN
When I opened Signature Furnishings in 2014, my hope was that you would have a comfortable stress free place to visit to purchase the kind of furniture your great grandfather would have made. I have chosen 20 of the top Amish craftsmen to work with and have catalogs from each of them. Each catalog displays the different styles of furniture available and their options. Our selected craftsmen has the ability to make your furniture custom to your needs. Each piece can be made to an exact size for that specific place in your home. Every piece that leaves Signature Furnishings is unique and created just for you.
I invite you to come to visit us. Let us take you back to a time when furniture was handmade by craftsmen who took pride in their work. A time when life was simple, people cared about their community, and furniture was built to last several generations.
